Two things:
1. On eBay, the correct terms are:
Retraction - when a buyer retracts his bid. It can only be done with 12+ hours to go in the auction, and the number of retractions a bidder makes is shown in his feedback record. Retractions are a privilege granted to bidders, and should only be used in the event of a genuine mistake, not just because you "changed your mind", or because you found the same item elsewhere for less money. Excessive bid retractions can result in warnings or suspension.
Cancellation - When a seller "cancels" a bid because he is uncomfortable with a particular bidder, because he intends on ending the auction early, or because he has discovered an error in his listing.
Also, Home.com is shutting down entirely as of today, so anyone using that system should have converted to whatever provider took over that particular area. In my case, Chipguy7@home.com became Chipguy7@cox.net.
