Some chips can be restored

I have chips (c&s) that have been restored. Since c&s, for the most part, are about 70 years old, many times the color fades (or darkens). Now if the chip is in good shape except for the color change, many times the color can be restored to original color.

I know this has been done to some of my chips because the edge has been left in the original condition while the surface looks brand new.

I assume the surface has been lightly sanded or buffed to original brilliance. I see nothing wrong with this. I actually like it.
