I have no objection to using the terms interchangably... my point is that the term "mint" is perfectly valid to be used with respect to casino chips.

That said, I personally prefer the term "mint" over the term "uncirculated" only because "uncirculated" implies a situation beyond the condition of a chip... it implies the knowledge that a given chip was absolutely never in play. Whereas, the term "mint" means to me that a given chip is in perfect condition, regardless of whether it spent a few bets on a table. Certainly the limited edition chips that I get, say, from YOU are undeniably in uncirculated condition... but many others (such as the one below) that I feel are in "mint" condition might have actually been in play at one time or another, and I would have no way of knowing if it were actually "uncirculated".
