If I remember correctly the ESPN pool only required a name for the group and then we all got a password to get in. It worked great and required no money for software. You can probably set up as many groups as you want (ie. for a $1 and/or $5 pool). If not a different person could start another "pool" if there was a limit of one "pool" per person. I am on a roll and since I am doing well betting on things I know nothing about, the NCAA tourney is right down my alley.
