It seems to me that this is what everyone wants so I'm done on this issue. In "plain vanilla" terms, a grading system would probably be good for the hobby overall but it's the subjective "comments" that go along with the grading and the reference to 'value' that I have a problem with. Since we're discussing a chip I pictured in this thread, I'd have NO problem if the 'grade' of the chip were called "NOTCHED/CANCELLED". I would have a problem if along with that 'grade' a comment like "not desirable to most collectors" or "value approximately xx% of a problem free chip", etc., etc., etc. Let's pick a FAIR grade with terms all in our hobby can use and leave the SUBJECTIVE comments out!!! Let's leave the 'value' of the chip up to the buyer and seller.
