I agree that you would have to call a chip with a burn on it damaged. I would disagree with the notion that it would be undesireable though. I kind of like the old chips that have a small burn mark on them. It conjures up a picture in my mind of a dark, smokey, back alley room full of gangsters and people down on their luck sitting around a card table.
