Don
We the board came up with these descriptions
I posted an announcement regarding these descriptions on the club's announcement board
Here is the text of the announcement;
The Board after reviewing suggestions and samples from several sources took
the available information and blended it into one unified description
system. Both Archie Black and Jim Reilly has presented programs and it was
from these two fine offerings that the final plan was crafted.
We are therefore pleased to announce that the Board has unanimously adopted
the new CC>CC Official Condition Descriptions, which are a simplified
method of describing the condition of a chip, for use in the hobby.
These descriptions will be published and presented in the Club's magazine,
the CC&TN, as well as in the Club's Official Glossary and on the reverse of
Club membership cards. All members, collectors and dealers alike are
encouraged to use the system.
The system is designed to be easy enough for the novice and yet still a
good fit for most experienced collectors.
But as with any new system the
CC>CC Official Condition Descriptions may need some tweaking along the
way. President Pincus will be appointing an oversight committee to review
the effects of the CC>CC Official Condition Descriptions and make
recommendations for change when warranted.
Don,
We understand that nothing is perfect and that is why an oversight committee is being appointed. These descriptions are good and we will make them better. We have to start somewhere and I feel we did a good job with it. If you are interested in volunteering for the committee I am sure President Pincus will like hearing from you.
To clarify the descriptions graphics will be supplied shortly. Our intention is to find the one chip from the same casino in every description.
