... and the notched (most notched chips I know of were not notched at a casino; they drill them, mostly) is probably a manufacturer's sample.... which I have no use for. 
Of course this reasoning is not to imply that the notched chip wasn't once in play prior to being returned to the manufacturer (for whatever reason) and notched (condition may determine this).
