.... Ha-ha get Professional help first! (Just kidding). It is impossible to get one of everything both because of availability and costs. What I refereed to, as 'Professional Advice' is advice I read in one of the guidebooks I bought and the advice seems to be very good and logical. It says basically get a sampling of a couple of all types, chips, tokens, jetons, etc., then collect a few of different places foreign, Indian, riverboat, Las Vegas, card rooms, etc. then a few Millennium, LE's, Grand Openings, House, etc. By then you have a smattering of much of the different chips and are becoming biased to one or two favorites, then you begin concentrating more on those. Keep the others, as you will use those when you are talking to others and want to show the wide range of items used as monetary items in gaming. The collecting focus’ of the collectors here vary as much as the people themselves, as you collect start with cheap stuff and as you get more comfortable and your collection matures so will the size of your investments but by then you will still be comfortable. As John said you came to the right place, there are some very knowledgeable people here mingled with many newbies like yourself. Don’t be alarmed if some of our esteemed members become very e-steamed at each other as some of the topics and discussions become heated and passionate. (Many of them don’t realize they are wrong… ) . WELCOME ABOARD!
