I have had the inverse happen. I sell a chip, after the close other people inquire if I have others. I sell almost as many chip that way. ALSO, if a buyer buys a $1 & $5 chip from the same casino, I may ask him if he wants the $2.50 as well. I almost always get a sale there. Between eBay and a human I will give the human a break. eBay SURE ain't gonna give me any breaks! I have set up some great connections via eBay.

I record every transactioneBay, jackpot, trade or sale for future reference. This has helped me locate chips later for others and know where a market is as well as who tried to 'gouge' me and people I send/recieve freebie stuff from (I send lots of slotcards out using the list). OK, that's the $5 answer for the $2 question!
