1. Why isn't Tyson in jail (any other person acting the way he does would be)?
2. Given the fact that he ISN'T in jail, why does the government have anything to say about whether or not he can box? The entire concept of governmental "licensing" of athletes is un-American.
What Tyson did in this most recent incident was no worse than Latrell Sprewell's choking attack of P.J. Carlesimo. Or Albert Belle's assault on a baseball fan by drilling him in the chest with a ball. (By the way, both of them should have been prosecuted and sent to jail, too.)
I haven't heard anyone suggesting that other "bad actor" athletes should have their "licenses" suspended/revoked/denied. Of course not: there are no "licenses" in other sports -- and shouldn't be in boxing either.
