I have listed 2 Obsolete Chips/Jetons from Martinique on ebay. Demonination for both are in French Francs.

There are 2 Casinos on the French Caribbean Island of Martinique. The Jeton on Ebay comes from the the Casino in Trois Islets. A small casino right next to the Le Meridan hotel. The other casino, La Bateliere is on the outskirts of the capital Fort-De-France. This casino is by far the nicer of the two. A very nice restaurant in the casino area where the table games are located. Both casinos requrie passport and admission fee(approx. $10) to get into the table game area which doesn't open until 9:00 PM. I was under the impression that people dressed up more for the european style casinos (having never visited a casino in Europe), but with slot machines in another room attached to the casino with no admission fee, you tend to see some shady island characters hanging around the front of the casino. My wife never felt so intimidated in her life - and of course it was my fault. The chips on ebay have more than likely been destroyed and replaced with the new EruoDollar chips.

When you goto islands like Aruba and Bonaire, both Dutch, the english language is widely spoken and for the most part you don't know whether it's a Dutch, British, or American island. However, when visiting Martinique, you know it's French the minute you hit the airport. The language barrier is at times difficult, but of course you get the opportunity to enjoy some nice French food and the beaches are all topless.
