Trust is earned through actions over time. Trust is never earned through words alone.

You may think, as do most people, that snakes are vile. But, not everyone shares that point of view. They have a purpose, at the very least they help to keep down the rodent population. I am sure that people who study them and understand them trust them more than the average person does.

Even if we shift the conversation from the snakes that are reptiles to the humans who are referred to as snakes because of their behavior, the same applies. Snakes are dangerous and not trustworthy. If a human were trustworthy, we would probably not call them a snake.
