For the most part, I agree with you. It is always best if people put a good detailed discription on their sales. However, my point of the definitions of Good, Very Good etc. is something that could be strived for. You do have a point in that you will still have inexperienced collectors who use these discriptions in their own subjective way. A definition of good might be able to have certain indications for various types of chips. Like you describe, Good could be defined as Lite to moderate table ware. Hot Stamps and Paper inserts fully intact. engravings clear. Slight rounding of edges and dirt OK etc. Other defects like chips, nicks or deep scratches could define a reduction in quality and things like Sharp edges and crisp lines and no dirt could make a condition better. In any case, these general discriptions should be looked at carefully when you are reading auctions. A seller who is not a collector or an experienced chip seller may not see good the same way you and I.
