I don't want to take sides on this but regarding the police report thing. Your situation involves two different things. One, the vandalism involving the broken window. As you say, and you are probably right, there is no value in pursuing it since the damage for you is not worth the hastle. However, This incident is also an act of violence and intimidation. The person/persons who did this deserve to be brought to justice. If this is how they feel it is appropriate to oppose you what other actions might they take when they disagree with someone in the future. I don't want to make more out of this than necessary but do we know they would not wrap and light the next rock on fire before throwing it. Right now it is a 2 x 4 window. What will it be next.
I, as many others have already expressed, am disgusted with this. In a thread above we have been talking about the arguing and fighting and written barbs that are being exchanged with one another and how that might be affecting participation in the convention and on this board. Some of those things are just spirited debate are with good intentions, are not personally based and not intended to hurt anyone. However the thought that some of our battles may come to a head with incidents like the one perpetrated on you is scary and shameful.
I am sure, certanly hope, that this is an isolated incident and not a true representation of where we have come. It is also a very good possibility that the culprit is not a participant here or even a member of the CC>CC. It could be possible though that the perpatrator is someone who has been fueled by some of our debate and a misunderstanding of the severity of our dissagreements. I just think in a situation like this, we all should not turn our backs and allow such actions to continue.
