...as far as the logo and trademark logo of my company goes. MY COMPANY owns the artwork and logo, regardless of where it appears, or who put it there, paid or free. ANY use of it MUST be by permission of the company and is SELDOM ever granted. I have seen this tested twice in my career and the company won BOTH times. I have seen the logo (winged flying horse) used by a local jeweler making pendants and the jeweler was also warned of legal action if he did not stop. He did (he reversed the image as the reverse was not registered and made slight modifications). Many companies might not have bothered with a small infraction such as the jeweler, my guess is that most would if it were large enough violation or a negative logo association. BUT, I don't work in the legal department; I only read their memos. That's why I started to wonder about the casino logo / artwork guest ion. Ownership by virtue of a scanning seemed to be stretching the legal issue. It is an interesting issue.
BOB... the image I took does seem to be 'mine' since I clipped it. It did not change. I think I understand what you mean about the URL, changing the link. But that's after the fact; the image has already been stolen & saved somewhere else (like on my server).
