Re: AOL Alert
In Response To: AOL Alert ()

I caught part of this on the news last night. The report I heard said that there was nothing that the AIM user needed to do because when AOL fixes the problem they will automatically upload the fix to any AIM users. I hadn't heard, though, exactly what the threat was. Thanks for posting this info. I do have a question though. Your post mentions AIM (AOL Instant Messenger). Is this the same as the buddy list and instant messanger that are part of your AOL software? or is it the software that is downloaded by NON-AOL users so that they can participate in Instant Message conversations with their friends on or off AOL. It could be important in that either AOL subscribers may not have to worry, or maybe they will. Also, if it is the NON-AOL users program than that would mean that you do not need to be using AOL to be at risk. Anyone who uses AOL Instant Messenger, even those outside of AOL itself should check out their vulnerability.

Now that my curiosity is peaked I will check it out through AOL and will post an update if I find any info.
