Well ask someone who collects cards. I tried and was surprised that they would give me one. I'm sure it's the same as trying to wrangle chips. One place it's off the tables, or not at all, another they will sell chips in the coffee shop.
Things may have changed, but in the early years of slot cards, you went up to a booth, Flamingo for example, and there was someone just running names on cards. You had to get to a level of play to get a perminant card. So I filled out the slip of paper, and they were so busy, it was slam bang, here's your personalized card.
Excalibur on the other hand, didn't even put a name on the card, I just got some temp card and if I got up to #### points, I could go back to the booth and get a "real" card with my name on it.
Maybe a card collector can give a better idea of how they get blank cards. The way that worked for me last time I tried was, walk up to the booth, smile nice, and ask if I could have a blank card for my casino card collection.
For someone selling a Mickey Mantle card, they should have something more than a nice story, to connect it with the real person. Dates that card was used? Do they match with when he was a host? (at the very least) A signature would be nice...
