My son was there for 99' New Year. He told me about how the crowds packed together trying to get closer. He said he could lift both feet off the ground for a long time and be supported just by the crowd wedged against him. Sometimes it would get hard to breath when they pressed so hard and he would begin to get panicly. He say's (now that it's over)he's glad he went, and saw it, but NEVER NEVER EVER again! I can only imagine such a crowd.
