I realize that the Insight.Com Bowl was a forgetable game to anyone other than an SU fan [SU beat K.State, 26-3] but Phoenix was fun even if my schedule prevented me from seeing my new friends in the area. We did get over to Ft. McDowell but didn't have time to play poker. Lost a few bucks on the video games. Later hit Casino Arizona--so crowded couldn't even get on a video slot--waiting behind a woman who had only $11.50 in credits--then noticed she was playing one quarter at a time--she's probably still there playing! Saturday morning at 5 a.m. went back leaving my friend sleeping (she's a pretty good small stakes player but won't play in the casinos) and drove back to CA to try again for a small stakes game; but alas the two tables were full with people waiting. So found a video poker machine and managed to toss $80 down the drain; on the way out the door, put $1.50 into a slot and managed to hit $60 net. CA is too crowded for me; didn't have time to hit the casinos south of Phoenix. Maybe next time.
