That's one of the difficult problems that catalogers have in setting estimates in their reference works ... that are always subject to Monday morning quarterbacking. On one hand, there is the HOL-1 (Holiday Inn $1 metal center chip) that never saw table use and brought something like $1,200 several years ago at auction .... but one has not been offered since .... with an estimate in the 2001 Edition of Black's Catalog of $1,600-$1,750. I'm sure if the HOL-1 chip were offered today, it would probably bring well over $2,000 with the players that are in the marketplace today. The $5 Resorts bacarrat chip (RES-5a)of which there are several known, is estimated at over $3,500 and has a track record to back up that value .... yet Chuck Tomarchio offered his for sale just a few months ago at less and didn't get any takers. I've offered $2000 to the owner of the RES-.50 and received no response.... so it's anybody's guess right now ....
