Obverse/reverse is a term that has meaning in U.S. coin collecting, the obverse is the side with the date and the reverse is the other side. For casino chips obverse/reverse do not have any defined meaning. Obverse/reverse would have to be determined by the designer of a chip and it is quite possible that on many chips that no such designation was intended.
