So, I also scan sideA and sideB then it's like you said which scan goes where. If I can find it in a book usually it's obvious then. I'm not into coins but 'ususlly' most coins are dated on the front (I know there are exceptions) & Currency 'usually' has the serial number on the front (I know there are exceptions here too).
