My Webster's reads:
jeton - "To calculate, to throw, a metal disk or counter as for operating a pay telephone, etc."
As far as our hobby goes, I think we should stick with what the manufacturers illustrate (and define) as jetons.... the plastic chips I show on my trade list.
BTW, I don't think you'll find the term "check" anywhere on my site; sales list or any article I've penned. I do not use it.
