First it is a token. By def.if it is not made of paper (called scrip if it is made of paper) and can be exchanged for money or used in leu of money.and it is not minted as a currency for a country then it is a token. It is like the term 'wrong planchet' most error collectors still call them 'off medals' which is incorrect and I agree that if you asked 10 dealers about a wooden nickel you would not get 10 different answers.I am also not saying that we do not need to educate everyone on the proper terms used in this hobby but the use of a proper term outside the chip comunity even if it is incorrect in our own circles is no reason to fire the first shot unless our own house is in order.
