If I buy some (say 10) really cool $1 chips from my friends Heckel and Jeckel for $2 each, and

that is a bargan I think (as it's that small casino no one sees chips from very often) and later

someone else sees I bought those (and knows what Heckel & Jeckel charge), offers to buy

them at face (and we are both on the face value list) am I commeted to take the loss? (Note: I

would gladly sell at MY cost for no profit to someone on the list).

Mike, don't make this thing more complicated then it is apparently going to be.

First of all, no one is expected to take a loss on anything.

Secondly, we are only committing ourselves to newly issued chips which we buy at face value from the casino. If you are picking these chips up at the casino, how can you pay more than face. This has nothing to do with higher valued chips, obsoletes, rare or odd chips---only current issued chips that one could return to the casino if need be.
