that is used when a player bets a certain bet and if won, a marker chip is used to denote which player won. The marker chip is kept in the dealers rack, and when used it is placed in front of the players hand and stays there until the pay off is done, at which point the marker is returned to the rack.

I've seen them, but can't describe it. But I have only seen them at the casino.
