Again I hit the yard and garage sales of Las Vegas this past weekend. I came across another seller (whose yard sale I had been to previously, 3 months ago) and he had additional items to sell. I bought about 12 ashtrays (at $1 a piece), and the "Little Caesar's" bag (scanned and posted by Ralph M., in a teasing post to Tyrus) and two Hollywood Club, $1 yellow smkey chips for $15.
This seller also had Sands napkins (me made the comment that he made a killing with the napkins) and he also had Aladdin napkins with the dancing harem girl. He offered no price or sales pitch on the napkins. He also had a $5 price tag on a matching (Aladdin) ashtray (w/the dancing girl) but I passed on it.
Lastly, he had a single paper placemat from the Golden Nugget, LV that he showed my, but did not make a sales attempt. He did inform me that he just acquired a case of the placemats.
So.......I am interested if know if any of these paper goods surface in other areas. I have already found the Sands napkins at three garage sales, and on eBay. The Aladdin napkins at one garage sale and on eBay. The Golden Nugget placemat at a garage sale.
Perhaps as a group we can be mindfull (observant) of these items, as I still have no corroberation that these items are not reproductions, BUT let me try to be clear about this.
I am not saying that they are reproductions. I only find it curious that they (papergoods, in pristine condition) seem to be coming out of the woodwork, all of a sudden, and at $5 for 10 napkins, that is quite a markup.
Thanks for reading. Any comments?
