There is a proposed rule change to the NJ AC. For those of you not familiar with the Casino Control Commssion, imagine a state agency who's job it is to regulate all legalized casino gambling.
There is a long document outlining the do's and don't with casino gambling in AC and this group meets about every two weeks to discuss changes. One of the upcoming changes is the ability to use gaming chips for jackpot/hand-pay payouts.
Gaming chips in AC are also very regulated down to the size, colors, and denominations that a casino can have manufactured. Also, prior to this ruling, casino chips could only be distrubted by the tables (rather than "at the cage" as it is in other areas) - there was an exception for Keno and Simucast winnings. This opens up the way for slot attendants to distribute chips for hand-pays and jackpots.
This is a big step and hopefully the beginning of the easing of commission rules about the distribution of chips in AC so that we can buy chips at the cage, rather than from a harried roulette or BJ dealer.
