Just 10-15 miles east of Pasadena off the 210 freeway on Huntington Dr, the border of the cities of Arcadia and Monrovia is a cluster of hotels, Embassy Suites, Holiday Inn, Hilton, Ramada, Marriott, and a couple others. Not sure what their prices are for New Years.

If you want to go a little further east, Duarte should have hotels near the City of Hope Hospital. It's a major cancer treatment center and should have several hotels near by.
