I've tried AOL 6 or 7 times over the last 10 years. My opinions of the service are based on my own experiences with it.
It is easy for an eight-year-old to use. That's about the only good thing that I can say about it.
It's proprietary browser is buggy and won't properly access all websites. Busy phone numbers are still too common. The "upgrades" that you are forced endure while they download are a nuisance.
Their installation disks are everywhere! Back when they were still on 1.44 mb floppies, I got one inside a bag of dried fruit that was part of a meal on an airplane, for crying out loud! They stiffed a company that was making those floppies for them, causing that company to go out of business...

Please understand I did not say AOL users suck, I said AOL sucks, and in my opinion, it does!
