I am not sure what this thread is about but it sounds like something that I have been afraid of since the anonomous jerk(s) who have been taunting and harassing the participants of this board. I have been reading and posting with no noticable problems but reading the previous post I am now a bit concerned. Could you please clarify about the problem Chuck had and what limitations are now being placed here on AOL users.
I for one have gone out of my way in the past to complain to AOL about abusers of this board and will continue to complain if I know what to complain about. I have not noticed many problems lately with the abusers and did not know this was currently an issue. Maybe I have been too selective about what I have been reading here. I do know you have been screening and deleting some of the offensive posts. Maybe that is why I have not been noticing. I do know that if I am beeing exempted, limited, or restricted in the actions I am pursuing on the I'net I would certainly send another letter to AOL to complain about their inaction interfering with my Internet pursuits. That would amount to paying for a service that by their inaction I am not fully able to receive. I would then have to seriously consider cancelling an account. However, I do not know that I can ask AOl to take some action unless I can tell them what action I am looking for. I can probably tell them that they need to take abuse complaints more seriously because their inaction on those complaints is costing me my enjoyment of the service but what abuse should I ask them to take seriously. I know their response. It will be some reply to a misdirected complaint that they can't act on. That, of course, will not help any of us.
I sympathise with you Greg for the work you have done in trying to keep this board clear of the abuses. I also sympathise with those who have been harassed, defamed, taunted and abused. I know there are many of us who participate here from AOL domains and hate to think that we may all be "Getting the Shaft" due to AOL's disconnect with our concerns and complaints. Please help me by clerifying this for me so that I might be able to formulate a proper complaint that won't get misdirected and spit back at me with some response from a AOL rep or computer that can't write proper english or understand the nature of my concern.
Thank You, Bill
