This is about banknotes but applies to chips too...
Why I even look at Banknotes on eBay is a mistery to me (seems everyone wants to get rich on one note), but I occasionally find myself browsing to see what's out there. I don't begrudge someone reimbursment for the postage and material for shipping, but there is a limit. Plus, I realize sometimes it's a pain in the A%# to do a bunch of auctions. So, a little 'extra' is no big deal. Usually.
I saw an auction for a banknote (a peice of paper mind you) the seller wanted $3.98 for shipping. A bit much, especially since the note was going for around $2.00 (no special packing needed for such a common note). The KICKER was that the seller was offering a DISCOUNT of 50% S/H for each additional item. So, for 5 banknotes oe would only need to pay $12 S/H! I WAS CLEAR on that, because I emailed the seller and asked. What a deal! Bear in mind these banknotes are very heavy & bulky!
I was in NO WAY wanting these notes, just amazed at the ploy to fleece the buyer. I'm seeing this kind of thing more and more.
With the high visibility eBay auctions have you are GAURANTEED to find a sucker! LOL
OK off my soapbox.....
