Serrated refers to the chip edge being "reeded" as the edge of a coin having parallel lines.

Prototype is a sample chip made by the manufacturer. The casino then chooses the style & colors they wish to order from the several samples that have been made. Prototypes that are not chosen rarely see play in the casino but are desirable to collectors.
