I love this Board.
I love chips
I love collecting, learning and being involved in this great educational hobby
I like and respect and most importantly GET ALONG WITH VIRTUALLY EVERYONE who participates actively in the hobby - whether our relationship is "cyber" or has progressed to anything from phone calls to dinner
Yes I have had "words over words" with Archie
I have been angry at others for a variety of reasons (but most of us have been able to exchange scans and make up
I have been stupid, stubborn and god-help-me-for having to admit it...
I HAVE MADE MISTAKES.
I have posted innappropriate things...
My jokes (which I am the only one to get some of time have fallen flat.
I have even lashed out a few times... over "principles" (mine - not anyone else's sometimes) and plunged into discussions of pain and controversy.
BUT I AGREE WITH YOU BOB - and understand why some chippers, including respected mentors in the hobby like Mel... do not want to participate or share their thoughts without being personally challenged for opting for a different point-of-view.
I am disappointed to see personal attacks and "specific bashing" that moves beyond what is necessary on a Board for COLLECTORS to share their thoughts and opinions.
I respect and enjoy those who post on matters beyond chips... since this world we live is the world that brings us together.
One thing for sure - Chippers are:
Stubborn
Opinionated
Intelligent
Resourceful
Generous
Caring
Persistant
Patient
Determined
Educated
Inquisitive
Knowlegeable
and on some occasions: WRONG
I am one of these Chippers... and everything
above pertains to me. (except patient and knowledgeable I guess - am working on those )
Bob?? You are a fun, informed, positive member of the chipping community...
My hope is we can ALL find a way to remain united and involved without hurting each other...
Ya know...we are all hurting enough right now ... it's a shame we have to hurt each other -
and each other's friends
