Is it right for OUR government to declare WAR on ANY and ALL terrorist who threaten United States citizens or property?

I'm not opposed to military action. And if there are terrorist organizations which can only be nuetralized by militray action then go ahead. Of course I suspect that conventional warfare will not win a war on terrorism.

If you mean generally declare war on terrorists, I see nothing wrong with it, but I consider a "war on terrorism" to be nothing more than rhetorical posturing akin to "war on drugs" and "war on poverty".

But I do object to throwing around the terrorist label as a justification for attacking people who are not engaged in or directly supporting terrorist activity.

And I object to the mentality that we should use this War as an excuse for infringing on the rights of citizens.
