Wish I had a panacea. But I do think it is important to speak up when you think an injustice has been done, even if you don't have the solution. In this case, maybe pointing out the problem will remind each of us (or even one of us) of our own responsibility in the matter.
Our church, although predominantly of European background, has people of various cultures, including Arab Americans. As of this writing there has been no expression of ill will against these people. And they are just has hurt and angry as anyone else in the congregation.
Obviously that is a microcosm. If only it was that easy in the rest of society. Sadly there are probably as many reasons to hate as there are different kinds of people. Sorry, didn't mean to get preachy. It's just that I've had so many thoughts tumbling around in my head since that terrible Tuesday.
