"WASHINGTON (AP) — Attorney General John Ashcroft Tuesday warned computer users about a new Internet threat that could slow the global network worse than the ``Code Red'' worm that struck earlier this summer."
According to his comments, Attorney General Ashcroft has also said that there is No Evidance that would link the NIMDA Virus to the attacks of last Tuesday.
I have updated my Norton AV Definitions and have happily completed a successfull scan with no viruses found. It is mentioned in the AP information that Win95, 98 and ME users may not be effected. I am not clear though whether that was referring to this virus or to Code Red that hit back in July. I use 98 and scanned my computer anyways. Better safe than sorry. I have included the link to Symantec below.
