... security in our airports would, in my mind, be a very bad idea (never mind the valid point Paul Donohue makes about the military already being over-extended). It is one of the great virtues of this country that we do not use the military for internal security, do not have guards armed with machine guns patrolling the streets, do not have national ID "papieren".

This event, as horrific as it was, will "change us forever" only if we let it. And I don't think we should. ----- jim o\-S
