We have already seen over-reaction which varies from the sublime (banning plastic dinner knives) to the ridiculus (the seizure today of a woman's crochet hook).

LAX was considering banning privately owned vehicles (and apparently will do so for at least some period of time). I can't help wondering how that would have prevented last week's attacks.

The more freedom we surrender, the greater the success of these attacks (in the twisted minds of those who perpetrated them).
