The AIRPORTS staff the security access machinery and stations (the x-ray machines, the metal detectors and the substance detection devices,) NOT the airlines! The airlines are responsible for screening the passengers by requiring their ticket counter agents to ask questions, requiring ID for a boarding pass and accepting checked luggage.
As to our government providing funds to sustain the airlines with operating capital during this crisis where needed, what the company CEO made last year has absolutely nothing to do with this situation. We can't sit and watch our commercial air traffic system go broke and go out of business because they were shut down for almost a week and face a reduced flight schedule for what might be a long time to come.
