Andy.... Speaking of backed-up mail... today I received a returned priority mail envelope containing one of my Atlantic City Catalogs mailed to Don Wentzell in Millville, NJ ... (the soft re-inforced paper envelope, not the cardboard one) .... with two stickers affixed by the U.S. Postal Service.
The first sticker, adjacent to the $3.50 priority postage stamp, stated;
"Surface transportation only"... with an red circle icon "X" superimposed over a jet airplane.
(Millville, NJ is about 65-70 miles south of Brick, NJ.)
The second bright red sticker said:
"RETURN TO SENDER VIA SURFACE TRANSPORTATION"
"We regret that your mail is being returned to you because of heightened security measures. All domestic mail, weighing 16 ounces or over, that bears stamps and all International and military APO/FPO mail weighing 16 ounces or over MUST be presented to a retail clerk at a Post Office.
Postage that is affixed to the returned mail may be used for re-mailing the item."
I only make this post to also let others know that such mailings will be delayed and to be patient waiting for eventual delivery. I'm sure that the club magazine mailing will also be affected.
