Well, I think that is the wrong answer. Where we need to start is to change the way we handle security in this country, especially the airports. We are way too lax assuming that it can't happen here. Guess what... it can.
I have been to airports all over the world, and with few exceptions (some African countries) ours is not even in the top half. We have people who are not even interested handling the baggage check-in, you go through the checkpoint and they barely glance at the x-ray monitor, answer three questions and you get a ticket.
On the other end it is a little better, at least the customs officials are federal agents. So there is some level of training - but I have gotten into the country without passing through customs more than once.
Where the plane would land on the far part of the tarmac because of the overcrowding at the gates and a bus would leave us off at the gate and we would walk-in and go. No customs, no immigration - I'm coming in from Canada so it must be OK.
This is where we need to start...
