I watched what was happening before I left for work this morning. My heart is still in my throat.
I am filled with sorrow and anger.
The acts committed this morning weren't terrorist acts. They were acts of war. They weren't attacks on high profile buildings in America, they were attacks on America. They were attacks on every American. They were attacks on freedom.
One lesson that we as a nation just relearned (it's been a long time since this country faced circumstances that make you realize what we have here) is, freedom isn't free. It comes at a cost.
Hopefully we can swiftly and thoroughly show those responsible for this act of war, and others who might be contemplating such attacks, that their actions will result in a great cost to them, a cost great enough that it won't happen again.
God be with us all.
