After the scariest experience of my life and after walking 7 or 8 miles, 3 hitch hikes and 5 1/2 hours later, I'm home.
The 3 images burned into my brain: watching people jump to their death; looking at the 2 trade centers burn knowing no one could survive above the crash line; running from the monstrous tidal wave of soot, ash and smoke after #2 World Trade Center fell. The tidal wave barrelled down Broadway from street level to 300 feet up and from building to building.
I'm sure there were other unforgettable moments like watch the pregnant woman (at least 8 months) running and crying while holding her belly.
