The walls continue to crumble - not from slabber bulldozers outside, but from clawing at them from the inside. I am 100% against slabbing. But I am more against friends attacking friends. Every one of you who think you have the right to TELL others what they ought to do, imagine if it was the other way around.
Yes, I wish the board was more communicative in this forum, but I certaainly don't see this as a place to have an open friendly dialog on the matter. I thought the board acted with a great deal of honor and compassion in their latest vote. No slabs in the auction. No open marketing of slabbing services. But no effort to dictate and control what types of chips chippers may buy and sell.
I value friendships over chips. I WILL NOT forsake a friend simply because he does not exactly share my views on slabbing. It's the motive, not the slab. When someone knows the harm slabs pose for our hobby, and yet supports slabs for personal profit, then that person is not deserving of friendship. It's not the slab, it's what's in the heart that counts.
I've said all this before. Those with open minds don't need to hear it, and tend to not bother continuing to plead for sanity because those with closed minds have already made it clear these words won't be heard. But thanks to Greg's open policy, you can't stop me from saying it again. These unfounded accusations against friends and fellow chippers only serve to reveal the hearts of those that make them.
Every day it's a little less fun than it was the day before. How much longer before it's no fun at all?
