The Macintosh Platinum ("cube") edition of last year meets the requirements of being a super computer, i.e., 1,000 mega-flops per second (if I am not mistaken)). That means 1 million instructions per second. A CRAY on the other-hand processes billions of instructions.
The difference is like McDonalds (billions served) and Sonic (what do you mean you wanted meat with that burger?)
