I have yet to get into the relm of old and obsolete chips. Therfore, I am not very familiar with these Aerodie chips. I assume they are old, obsolete and probably recalled? If my understanding is correct there is the issue that I have heard before that, technically, Gaming would not allow these chips to legally be sold. Especially not by the casino for over face. Maybe someone can clerify this issue.
It will be interesting to see what will ultimately happen with them. If they show up on eBay or other secondary market there would be some suspicion over their sale. From what has been said here they were last witnessed in the possession of the casino. Therefore, there are only two ways they can make it onto the market. Either through theft or by the casino selling them to someone.
Lastly, is Todd(?) sure of what he saw and that these were in fact the rare(?) chips that people are discussing. I seem to recall that 4Q released or is releasing an anniversary set(?) of chips that are supposed to be replicas of older chips. Could the cashier have misinterperated the new chips as old ones?
Just Wondering,
Bill
