Jim Ryun provided me with some very thrilling sports moments. He made the Olympic team while he was still in high school. In the Mexico City Olympics he performed with mononucleosis, still managed to win a silver medal. Gosh, I was pulling for him to take the gold!

He set an excellent example for young people. He is one of the few congressmen who gives me some hope for decency in politics.
