Barry; I have the same problem. When I click-on "Shut Down" ... many times the computer simply Restarts and I have to click on Shut Down after several Restarts, before it actually shuts down. You may have something there.

One thing you said puzzles me, though. How do you shut off the modem before shutting down... or signing off as you put it?
